Iconic Grey Gardens in East Hampton Sells, Estate Sale Coming Up

The iconic East Hampton, NY,  home went on the market in February for $20 million. Quinn and Washington Post editor Ben Bradlee bought the home from the Beale family in 1979 for $220,000 and totally renovated the estate. But after Bradlee's death in 2014, Quinn couldn't bear to be at the 6,000-square-foot house without him. She proceeded to put it on the market for an optimistic $20 million, then cut $2 million from the price. The famous home has also been available as a rental  for wealthy summer denizens. âI'm happy now, but when I first got the offer, I just burst into tears,â Quinn told the Washington Post . âBecause it means letting go of Ben and all the magical times we spent there.â The 1897-built estate includes a stucco cottage, heated pool, and tennis court.
